NADA Convention and Expo Ranked as One of the Largest Shows in 2010

McLEAN, Va. (Dec. 5, 2011) – The 2010 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Expo, held in Orlando, Fla., received the prestigious Gold 100 award from Trade Show Executive magazine.

The NADA Convention and Expo was ranked as one of the largest U.S. trade shows in 2010 based on net square feet of paid exhibit space.

“The Gold 100 ranking places the NADA Convention and Expo with an elite group of trade shows across the country,” said Steve Pitt, NADA vice president of conventions and expositions. “We’re honored to be recognized as part of this elite group and setting the gold standard for the trade show industry.”

The 2010 NADA Convention and Expo occupied 201,100 net square feet of exhibit space, hosted 468 exhibitors and drew nearly 15,200 attendees.

“The Gold 100 shows are the premier events in their sectors for launching the exciting new products that will carry their industries forward in this decade and beyond,” said Darlene Gudea, president of the Trade Show Executive Media Group.

The Gold 100 shows in 2010 spanned more than 39 million net square feet of exhibit space and drew 3.3 million attendees, pumping millions of dollars into their host cities. More than 13,000 trade shows are held in the United States each year, according to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research.

The Gold 100 award were recently presented at the Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Awards Gala & Summit in Oceanside, Calif.

The NADA Story

The NADA story began in 1917 when 30 auto dealers traveled to the nation’s capital to convince Congress not to impose a luxury tax on the automobile. They successfully argued that the automobile is a necessity of American life, not a luxury. From that experience was born the National Automobile Dealers Association. Today, NADA represents nearly 16,000 new-car and -truck dealerships with 32,500 franchises, both domestic and international. For more information, visit www.nada.org.
